Skype Migration

It’s the End of Skype for Business as We Know It. Are You Ready?

Coming this July 31, 2021 – Skype For Business online will reach its end of life. If you have not yet developed a plan to Transition to Teams, now is the time!

Why Migrate to Teams?

Originally introduced in 2017, Teams began as a relatively simple collaboration tool where colleagues could chat and work with files together. Not long afterward, Microsoft began an immense effort to transform Teams into a platform where most of an individual’s daily work could be accomplished.

Now, Teams provides voice calling, video conference calls, meeting scheduling, large-scale live events, third-party apps, and of course – teams collaboration. And so much more rolling out each month. Microsoft has taken the best of what Skype for Business had to offer, improved it, and rolled it into Teams.

Put simply, it is a much better & more productive experience than Skype for Business.

How Long Will the Migration Take?

That answer of course depends on a lot of factors. Things like performing network analysis, developing personas, call queues & branching, auto attendants, and deploying Teams Room System hardware can take time. In scenarios like this we always recommend reaching out to professionals (e.g., us) to take the brunt of the risk out of your hands.

After all, reaching August 1st, 2021 and having no phone or conferencing solution in place suddenly would be very painful.

Developing Your Game Plan

Magenium is highly skilled at the technical pieces of a migration to Teams, yes. But we are equally skilled at the softer (but just as important) pieces of a rollout such as governance, change management, training, and improving user adoption.
